About Me

I am a self confessed 27 year old Media Pig, who for the past 5 years has been working as an advertising consultant based in London. As well as advising clients on the latest technology to advertise their brands, one of my favourite perks of the job allows me to entertain clients at some of London's top restaurants... Over the years I have been lucky enough to visit nearly all of the culinary delights London has to offer and along the way, while not only seen my palate mature, I have become a complete Media Pig, having no time for poor food or service! Please follow me week by week as my food journey continues and I hope you find my advice insightful! Regards, The Media Pig

Roast - Borough Market

My first visit here, despite ending up in a complaint to the general manager regarding extremely poor service, was a culinary delight. Being enticed back by an offer of complementary champaign and the promise of an experienced server, my second visit was a welcome return.
Located in the heart of the market by a rather inconspicuous lift entrance, Roast has a welcoming lavish decor with great views across the market.
The menu boast a range of traditional British food (perfect for breakfast) with all produced being sourced by local home grown farmers...
The kitchen is fully visible from across the dining room and you can often see a whole cooked pig resting on the counter top! You can view the menu on-line here.
however everything not only looks visually striking however taste amazing (be prepared for some food envy)..
I can strongly recommend the suckling pig however if you are heading down for lunch keep an eye out for the lunch time specials as you can often save up to 50% on the full price menu here..
The only criticism I have for this establishment is the influx of city boy patrons.. If your not wearing a suit you may look out of place!!

Summary: Great food & decor same about the clientele..
